ABOUT US

History of our nursery

Vivaio Botturi was founded in 1996 when Ilario Botturi, an agricultural expert, started his own business with nothing but good ideas and plenty of determination.

Located in the province of Brescia, in the hills of Lake Garda, we cultivate more than 100 varieties of plants in our nurseries, producing around 20,000 pots per year. In addition to this, we also produce root-ball trees and large shrubs, a large part of which is used to create our gardens.

OUR STORY

The nursery is divided into two production areas: at the operational headquarters, potted plants are cultivated and ready in any season of the year, to which large plants recultivated in larger sized tubs are added after having been grown in the second part of the company, which is the 20,000 square metre open ground nursery located in the hamlet of Bettola in Lonato.

RESEARCH AND PASSION

The company's production starts either from cuttings or from young, grafted plants, going through different pots, gradually increasing in size.

The owner's research, experimentation and passion have enabled him to discover and cultivate several species that over the years were forgotten and some of which were close to extinction such as Daphnephyllum and Desmodium.

Heart made from plants image

In addition to plant cultivation, we also engage in designing, realising and maintaining green spaces such as gardens, parks and terraces.

Our extensive knowledge of plants through their direct cultivation allows us not only to produce striking and unique creations, but ones that last through the seasons and years.
